Kunstwerk zum Gedenken an die Geschwister Scholl

Für den Geschwister-Scholl-Park in Magdeburg wurde im Februar 2023 ein Wettbewerb „Zur Schaffung eines Kunstwerks zum Gedenken an die Geschwister Scholl“ ausgelobt. Aus den 124 Bewerbern erhielten sechs Künstlerinnen und Künstler eine Einladung zur Teilnahme und reichten im Juni 2023 ihre Entwürfe ein. Im August 2023 hatte eine Auswahljury davon drei Entwürfe prämiert. Zur Entscheidung des finalen Entwurfs aus dieser Vorauswahl rief der Stadtrat im April 2024 zur Bürgerbeteiligung auf. Eine deutliche Mehrheit von 64% entschied sich für den Entwurf „AnStoß“ von Roland Fuhrmann. 29% stimmten für den Entwurf „Widerstand der Anschläge“ von P.T. (Cisca Bogman, Via Lewandowsky, Oliver Störmer). 7% der Stimmen fielen auf den Entwurf von Patricia Pisani. In ihrer heutigen Stadtratssitzung folgten die Stadtverordneten aller Parteien einstimmig dem Ergebnis der Bürgerbeteiligung und stimmten für die Realisierung des Entwurfs „AnStoß“.

Artwork in memory of the
Scholl siblings

In February 2023, a competition „To create an artwork in memory of the Scholl siblings“ was organised for the Geschwister-Scholl-Park in Magdeburg. Six artists from the 124 applicants were invited to take part and submitted their designs in June 2023. In August 2023, a selection jury awarded prizes to three of these proposals. To decide on the final design from this shortlist, the city council called for public participation in April 2024. A clear majority of 64% voted in favour of the „AnStoß“ design by Roland Fuhrmann. 29% voted in favour of the design „Widerstand der Anschläge“ by P.T. (Cisca Bogman, Via Lewandowsky, Oliver Störmer). 7% of the votes went to the design by Patricia Pisani. In today’s city council meeting, the city councillors of all parties unanimously followed the result of the public participation and voted in favour of the realisation of the „AnStoß“ artwork.
