Confluence (Zusammenfluss) ist bereits die zweite Künstlermonografie von Roland Fuhrmann, die im Kehrer Verlag erscheint. Sie zeigt eine Auswahl von sechsunddreißig Arbeiten aus seinem aktuellen Schaffen – von konzeptuellen Fotoarbeiten über Installationen mit Solar- und Thermokinetik bis hin zu Monumentalplastiken. Fuhrmanns breit gefächertes Œuvre bewegt sich an den Schnittstellen zwischen Kunst und Architektur sowie zwischen Wissenschaft und Zeitgeschichte. Mit seinen anamorphotischen Installationen und kinetischen Objekten stellt er gewohnte Sichtweisen infrage, schafft Situationen instabiler Wahrnehmung und bringt Räume ins Wanken. Seine permanent platzierten architektur- und ortsbezogenen Arbeiten sind international vertreten. Die vorliegende Monografie verdeutlicht Fuhrmanns konzeptuellen Ansatz, bei dem sein künstlerisches Werk mit dem Raum und dessen Kontext zu einer neuen Einheit zusammenfließt – Confluence.

CONFLUENCE – Artist’s monograph on the work of Roland Fuhrmann

Confluence is the second artist monograph by Roland Fuhrmann to be published by Kehrer Verlag. It presents a selection of thirty-six works from his current œuvre – from conceptual photographic works and solar and thermokinetic installations to monumental sculptures. Fuhrmann’s wide-ranging œuvre operates at the interface between art and architecture as well as between science and contemporary history. With his anamorphic installations and kinetic objects, he challenges conventional ways of seeing, creates situations of unstable perception and shakes up spaces. His permanently placed public art and site-specific works are represented internationally. This monograph illustrates Fuhrmann’s conceptual approach, in which his artistic work merges with spaces and their context to form a new entity – Confluence.
